I started song writing as a teenager just to past the time,
listening to all
the
top ten singles then studying the formula and trying it out
on my own material but I soon realized there's more to song
writing than meets
the eye, you need someone with a professional studio to make
your songs sound good enough for radio, plus the hiring of musicians
and a truck load of money.
During the mid 80`s till the late 90`s I had teamed up with
other musician's,
keyboards, bass player and drummer, and we must of recorded
in every
major studio in Sydney, {Australia}. We also approached every
Record and
publishing company only to be told this is not what we're
looking for at the moment, we thought our music was equal to
what was being played on the radio at the
time.
We finally realized its nothing to do with using big budget
recording studios and parting with thousands of dollars and
getting rejected time after time by A&R people, its more to
do with who you know and how to promote your own product,
and of cause a half decent song, even that's debatable. But
now with the internet being available to most households &
businesses there's a greater chance of being heard and selling your product.
The main thing to remember is the Music Industry is a fashion
business and like any business you must study the form to win,
or at least be in the running, and in times of despair Just
remember, to create music is a wonderful gift and a world without
music is a sad world indeed.
I have heard numerous albums recorded using a Computer with
basic sound
card and sounding as good as it gets or near as, plus you can
take as long
as you like its Free!!! We ended up building our own little
studio & hiring the
best drummers we knew then laying down hundreds of Drum Tracks
and
drum hits to Analog and Digital format and cutting them up into
loop type
length's and placing them into a Web Type Browser and calling
them the Classic Beats Collection.
We also included all the Single Hits of each kit, so you can
easily construct
your own then create any style, beat, or rhythm you like. Add
effects, take
hits out of one kit and add it to another, the skies the Limit.
We also
made an Essential hits and Percussion CD along with a Final
elements CD
which will keep you covered for years to come. So when your
creative juices
start to flow you have your own drummer at the click of a mouse.
All the best,
